The examples of assessments included in this book were done by the author. Although not exhaustive, they work as a foundation upon which paediatric physiotherapy assessments can be built on in the African setting. Places and names of patients were withheld to maintain anonymity of parties involved. Drug charts in these assessments were based on Essential Medicines List for Zimbabwe – EDLIZ 7th Edition guidelines, Standard Treatment Guidelines and Essential Medicines List for South Africa 6th Edition, as well as clinical reasoning of the attending paediatrician. These charts are used for learning purposes and do not substitute seeking advice from a doctor. Similarly, physiotherapy treatment explained does not substitute the need to seek advice from a physiotherapist. Abbreviations and shorthand were used to reduce the volume of the book and to make it easy to read and for quick reference for learners; their meanings are included at the back of the book.
