The material used for the print is a tightly-woven jersey fabric made with combed cotton yarn.
This jersey material, made with 30/2 cotton yarn, is printed with an original bandana patch pattern.
Combed yarn is a term used in contrast to carded yarn, and it refers to a fine, high-quality cotton yarn spun after the carding process (which removes short fibers and aligns the fibers in parallel) and then passed through a combing machine to further remove short fibers and improve the parallelism of the fibers.
This results in a tighter yarn (with a slight sheen) and increases the parallel alignment of the fibers, which also increases the tensile strength of the yarn.
While carded yarn is also available for thicker yarns, only combed yarn is used for finer counts of 30, 40, or higher.
After pre-treatment to facilitate ink adhesion, inkjet printing is applied in Kyoto.
